Two Newton men face felony drug charges after a drug task force searched a southeast Newton residence Wednesday afternoon and seized illegal drugs.
The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at 602 E. 10th St. S. where marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.
Jace S. Troen, 20, and Conner A. Hayden, 20, were both charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia following the raid. Both were taken to the Jasper.
The Jasper County Sheriff's Office K-9 drug-detecting dog, Nuke, was on the scene to assist in the execution of the search warrant.
The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force is based in Des Moines and currently has 16 central Iowa agencies participating, including the Jasper and Marion County Sheriff's Offices and the Newton, Knoxville and Pella Police Departments.
