Jasper County Recorder Nancy Parrott is reminding county residents that current registrations for a number of off-road vehicles expire at the end of the year.
The renewal period ofr ATVs, off-road motorcycles, off-road vehicle and snowmobiles began Sept. 1 and runs to Dec. 31.
Renewals can be sent to the Jasper County Recorder's Office, PO Box 665, Newton, IA 50208 or be completed in the Recorder's Office during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The over-the-counter renewal fee for ATVs, ORVs or ORMs is $17.75. To renew by mail costs $18.75. The over-the-counter renewal price for snowmobiles is $17.75 plus a user permit fee of $17.75. Mail renewals for snowmobiles cost $18.75, plus the $17.75 user permit fee.
An additional $5 will be charged to registration fees if registrations are not current, exluding the user permit.
Beginning last year, all snowmobiles operated on public land and ice in Iowa are required to display an Iowa Department of Natural Resources user permit, in addition to the registration decal issued for Iowa or another state.
If renewing by mail, vehicle owners are asked to supply a day-time phone number.
