A Newton woman was charged with going armed with intent after she allegedly attacked another woman with a knife in the hallway of Meadowbrook Apartments last month.
Tanneeah R. Fleming, 34, of Newton was charged in connection with the incident reported to police at 5:04 a.m. Aug. 25 at the apartment building located at 1020 E. 12th St. N.
According to police, Fleming was allegedly standing on the second floor landing brandishing a knife when the victim and two other individuals walked into the building. Fleming allegedly said to the victim, "you thought this was over," before charging down the stairs at the victim with knife in hand.
Both individuals stumbled down the stairs and knocking open the door to apartment 1 where they fell to the floor. Fleming allegedly got on top of the victim where she started hitting her causing swelling to her right cheek.
Fleming fled the scene before police arrived. She came to the Newton Police Department on Aug. 28 where she was charged with the Class D felony and released to appear.
