The City of Newton today put out public notice that it is now accepting applications for the new Management Analyst position created as part of the reorganization of its administration operations.
The entry-level position will assist in the areas of finance, economic development, organizational development, information technology and community engagement. The individual selected for the position will report to the City Adminstrator.
The new position is part of administrative management changes that included the promotion of Bryan Friedman from his position as Community Development Director to Director of Finance and Development. A portion of his development responsibilities will be contracted out to the Newton Development Corporation.
The changes also included the promotion of Erin Chambers from her position of City Planner to Director of Planning and Zoning. Financial assistant Lisa Frazier was also promoted to the position of Comptroller.
The city operations makeover also included changes to the city's Public Works and Parks departments.
Applications for the Management Analyst position will be taken until Feb. 1. The starting salary range is $36,781 to $45,803. A bachelor's degree is required with a master's degree in public administration preferred.
