North 19th Avenue East in Newton will be closed next week, July 16 to July 21, for the repair of the railroad crossing on the roadway.
The cost of the railroad crossing repair is being paid through funding from Iowa Interstate Railroad, the State of Iowa and city funds.
The designated detour for traversing the area in the northern part of the community is along East Fifth Street North, North 15th Street East, East Eighth Street North, North 11th Avenue East and East 19th Street North.
