A Mingo woman died following a single-vehicle accident early Saturday when the pickup truck she was driving struck a utility pole in the 400 block of West Main Street in Mingo causing the vehicle to flip on its side and ejecting the woman through the open driver's side door.
Jasper County Sheriff's Department Deputies were called to the seen shortly after midnight July 14 where they found Rhonda Jo Osborn, 46, of 301 E. Main Street laying facedown in the roadway next to the totaled Chevy Silverado.
Medics attended to Osborn and she was taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was pronounced dead late Saturday afternoon.
Sheriff officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and that a urine test was taken though results are not complete.
