Letter: Newton Police Officers Union endorses Halferty for Sheriff

To the Newton Independent:

To the Citizens of Jasper County, on behalf of the Newton Police Officers Union (PPME Local 2003), I would like to formally announce our endorsement of John Halferty for Jasper County Sheriff.

John's leadership, experience and integrity are second to none and he is a highly respected member of the law enforcement community. John consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty for the safety of our citizens and his leadership will bring about a new level of professionalism and service to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

John has a long-standing commitment to the public safety and his willingness to collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, community leaders and the citizens of Jasper County to develop solutions to the challenges facing our county makes him our choice for the next Jasper County Sheriff.

Please join the Newton Police Officers Union (PPME Local 2003) in supporting a proven leader for Jasper County Sheriff and elect John Halferty on Nov. 6.
