Tickets remain available for two of Saturday's round-trip steam engine train rides between Newton and Mitchellville, a fundraiser to assist the efforts of Progress Industries.
Train rider organizers said tickets for the 11:50 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. are available and will be sold at the Newton departing location adjacent to the former Maytag headquarters northwest of downtown Newton. Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under.
In addition, ride organizers are seeking volunteers to sit in one or two hour periods at the former train depot/Art a la Carte building to redirect riders to the correct departing point. Anyone interested in volunteer is asked to call Progress Industries at 641-792-6119 before 3 p.m. today.
