Newton attorney Machelle Crum's efforts to block the release of the name of the man having an affair with former Des Moines School District Superintendent Dr. Nancy Sebring was denied today.
KCCI is reporting this afternoon that the Polk County judge had denied the man's request to remain annonymous.
Last week, Crum argued at a court hearing to block the release of his name in public records being sought by the Des Moines Register. She argued no public purpose would be served by naming him and that the release of his name would damage his career and reputation.
