Residents of the PCM Community School District have lost their appeal of next fiscal year's budget, KCOB radio reported on Monday.
A petition appealing the budget was filed in late April asking that the state review board require that the district place its budget at the lowest possible amount of just over $10 million and disallow any levy or tax increase in the coming fiscal year.
The protesters, led by Prairie City News Publisher Criste Scarnati, also laid out a litany of alleged instances of financial mismanagement in the school district in their protest of the certified budget.
The school district asked the appeal board to strike those issues as immaterial.
