A federal magistrate judge today cancelled the show cause hearing set for next month to determine whether the Kellogg man awaiting sentencing for wire fraud should be held in contempt for not making court-ordered payments for his legal representation by a public defender.
Magistrate Judge Ross Walters cancelled the contempt hearing for Jason Kibbee that had been scheduled for July 5 noting that he is "now current on the court ordered payments."
In January, Walters ordered Kibbee to pay $500 per month to offset the public expense of his representation in the matter.
Sentencing on the federal wire fraud charge is set for July 12.
