Jackknifed truck blocks I-80 at Newton

Interstate 80 westbound at exit 164 in Newton is blocked due to a jackknifed semi trailer, the Iowa DOT is stating.

Travelers in the area are asked to follow local detours and expect delays.

The interstate has now reopened to westbound traffic, approximately 50 minutes after the accident during a heavy late afternoon rain storm in Newton.
