The former Monroe Chief of Police plead guilty on Monday to public intoxication after being charged on Saturday at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
Matt Jones was fined $150 in Marion County District Court on the charge and was also ordered to pay $60 in costs and a $52.50 surcharge.
Jones resigned his position as chief in Monroe in July 2011. Earlier that year, while at a police convention in Oklahoma, Jones was involved in a crash while driving the department's Crown Victoria police vehicle that caused extensive damage.
