Fireworks to culminate Newton 4th of July activities

The Newton fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, city officials said today.

J & M Displays will provide the pyrotechnics again this year. The fireworks will be shot from the softball complex located northeeast of Woodland Park.

For safety reasons, the softball complex parking lot and ball fields will be off limits for viewers. The restrooms at the softball complex will remain open until 9:15 p.m.

In case of rain and the show needs to be cancelled, notification will be aired on KCOB 95.9 FM. The rain date is set for Thursday, July 5.
