The Jasper County Historical Museum will host an outdoor evening of bluegrass and gospel music beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of the barn on the museum grounds.
Highway Home, an award-winning bluegrass/gospel group comprised of area residents will perform, as well as The Jasper Docents, a group of old-time musicians/museum guides who will lead some sing-along songs.
In addition, Larry Hurto, a member of the Newton Historical Preservation Commission, will tell the story of the circuit riding preacher.
The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy the free show. In case of rain, the event will be held indoors.
