Colfax Music in the Park will kick off its seventh season on Saturday, June 16, when Bryce Janey and Curry Harter perform beginning at 7 p.m. at the Anspack Stage in Women's Club Park, 13 East Division Street in Colfax.
Janey is an Iowa Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a 2012 International Blues Challenge semifinalist. Harter, a harmonica legend, has been playing the blues, country and gospel music across the U.S. for the last 40 years.
The free night of music will also feature the crowning of the 2012 Jasper County Fair Queen. Food will be served by the Jasper County Fair Board. Colfax Main Street, host of the event, will have alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for sale.
Upcoming Music in the Park concerts are set for Sunday, July 22, when Up Daddies, Harvest Band and Paul Walters and the Lonesome Tears perform and Saturday, Aug. 4, when Slip Stream, a group comprised of many members of the former Eight Track Band, performs.
A play area for children, which includes free sidewalk chalk, bubbles and outdoor toys, will be available.
