Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency is rolling out a new service where it will shuttle residents from Newton to malls in Des Moines beginning next Thursday.
For $10, the public transit agency will pick residents up at their home and take them to either Jordan Creek or Valley West malls. Next week's trip, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will run to Jordan Creek.
In addition, those using the service will be provided coupons for discounts and even free items at the various shops at the retail center.
All HIRTA vehicles are handicap accessible with drivers trained to assist public transit users on and off the buses. A minimum of three passengers need to sign up for the trips to be held.
