Windstream Corporation CEO Jeff Gardner told a national TV audience on Tuesday that the Little Rock, Ark.-based company will continue to focus efforts on broadband.
Gardner appeared on CNBC's "Fast Money" where he noted the company now sees about 53 percent of its revenue coming from broadband, compared to about 35 percent when the company was spun off from Alltel in 2006.
Windstream, which recently completed its $1.2 billion acquisition of Newton-based Iowa Telecom, has applied for a $238 million stimulus grant to expand broadband across rural areas of the country.
