To the Newton Independent:
For 16 years, T Party Terry kept getting elected because Democrats did not run the right people against him. I have always believed that Lt. Gov. Robert Anderson could have beat Branstad but Democrats chose the flashy guy from southern Iowa who that big paper in Des Moines thought was a wing-ding daddy and Yepsen couldn't say enough good stuff about him until after he got the nomination. Then Yepsen and the paper dropped the junk bond salesman like a hot potato and T Party Terry got re-elected.
The good news is that the big paper in Des Moines is not the deciding factor in who gets elected. News sources such as this one you're reading now play an important part in elections in Iowa now.
So, I hope people will take a look at Dan Kelley, the Democrat that is running for Paul Bell's seat in the Iowa House. Dan is a good man and I don't know of a better person for that job.
And for people who think I was unfair to that big paper in Des Moines, they failed to expose Iowa's embarrassment Congressman Steve King while he was in the Iowa Legislature and then went on to recommend him twice for Congress.
