The League of Women Voters of Jasper County is sponsoring a forum for the Jasper County Supervisor candidates in the June 8 primary.
The forum will be held beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, in the council chambers at Newton City Hall. At 7 p.m., the four Democratic candidates running in the primary for the two open seats - Joe Brock, Dennis McDougall, John Parsons and Max Worthington - will provide opening statements and be questioned by League officials followed at 8 p.m. by the three Republican candidates - Denny Carpenter, David Mast and Bill Ward.
The public is invited to attend and participate in the forum. Those attending will be provided an opportunity to submit questions to the candidates.
The forum will be televised live and aired on the local government access cable television Channel 12.
The supervisor primary election is the only contested race in the June 8 primary.
