Fund established to support appeal of Emerson Hough closure

Organizers of the appeal of the Newton School Board's decision to close Emerson Hough Elementary are seeking donations to help pay attorney costs in bringing the appeal forward.

A Save Emerson Hough Fund has now been established at Community State Bank in Newton.

Parents of Emerson Hough students planning to appeal the decision with the State Board of Education have hired legal assistance through the Brierly Law Firm in Newton. All donations received will go to paying for expenses and legal fees on the appeal.

Donations may be made directly at the bank located at 2506 1st Ave. E. or sent to:
