Former Jasper County Supervisor Max Worthington has filed nomination papers seeking re-election to a seat he held for two terms before being displaced in the primary election two years ago.
Worthington is seeking one of two open seats on the Jasper County Board of Supervisors. Current board member Rick Tiedje announced that he will not seek a second term while incumbent John Parsons is expected to file his nomination papers in the near future.
Both are Democrats.
The Mayor of Colfax, David Mast, has also filed nomination papers seeking a seat on the Jasper County Board of Supervisors. Mast filed as a Republican.
Jasper County Treasurer Doug Bishop has also filed his papers seeking re-election. He is a Democrat.
Also up for election this fall are long-time County Recorder Nancy Parrott and recently-appointed County Attorney Mike Jacobsen, both Democrats. The two are expected to file nomination papers in the near future.
Candidates wishing to appear on the primary ballot in June have until March 31 to file nomination papers with the Jasper County Commissioner of Elections. A valid nomination must contain the signatures of 100 eligible county voters.
