Clarification on appeal representation

"It was pointed out to me that an article in the paper (and Newton Independent) stated that we had retained Dennis Chalupa as our attorney to appeal the school board's decision. While Mr. Chalupa has agreed to represent the appealing parent through this process, we have not yet paid him the retainer he is requesting for his service and therefore have not retained an attorney. I apologize if my wording on the matter was confusing."   - Marci Clark.
