The City of Mingo is slated to receive $269,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to assist the Jasper County community with water projects.
The city was awarded the funds through the Water/Sewer competitive grant program. The funding is made available to assist communities in making sewer improvements, water system improvements, water and wastewater treatment facility upgrades, storm sewer projects and rural water connections.
The grant money to Mingo was announced as part of an overall disbursement of $12.4 million in CDBG funds to 35 Iowa cities through the Water/Sewer and Community Facilities and Services fund programs.
The awards are contingent upon receipt of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
