Public meeting on school closure issue postponed

Newton Independent

The public meeting on the Newton Community School District's elementary school boundary alignment plan that could lead to the closing of a school has been postponed due to today's inclement weather.

Newton School Board member Dennis Combs said the meeting set for tonight at Aurora Heights will be rescheduled at a future date.

The school board will hold another public meeting on the matter at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Jefferson Elementary.

Residents of the school district are urged to attend.
