A Newton woman was killed in a head-on collision early today in Greene County, Ill., newspaper reports from the area indicate.
Mindi Mae June Rogers, 27, was killed in the crash reported at 1.37 a.m. on U.S. Highway 67 in southwest Illinois, north of St. Louis. A passenger in her vehicle, Michele Barnes, 33, of Carrollton, Ill., was seriously injured.
Illinois State Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, the State Journal-Register reported.
