The Newton woman accused of misappropriating more than $10,000 from the Newton American Legion plead guilty today to an amended charge of second degree theft.
At a hearing in Jasper County District Court this morning, the court allowed the state's motion to amend the complaint against Shari Good to the reduced charge and accepted her plea of guilty to the amended count.
Sentencing has been set for March 22 at 9:30 a.m.
Good was charged following an audit of the American Legion's finances. She was initially charged with first degree theft and on-going criminal conduct in connection with the alleged misappropriation of money from the veteran's club.
She was previously scheduled to stand trial on the charges Feb. 10.
