WHO-TV ran a story last night on the financial problems facing the Newton Community School District and the options is it considering to address the $2.5 million budget shortfall, including the likelihood of closing one of Newton's five elementary schools.
The station interviewed a parent with children attending Emerson Hough and a teacher, who notes that program cuts and staff reductions are probable additional elements of any plan adopted.
