Skiff Medical Center and Jasper County Public Health have set three free H1N1 flu vaccine clinics around the county later this month.
Public health officials state that another wave of H1N1 flu cases is expected in the coming weeks and months and is urging county residents to take advantage of the free clinics.
"Now that the holidays are over, it is likely more people will become sick with H1N1," said Jennifer Jordan, director of Jasper County Public Health. "In addition, this is the time we see rates of season flu increasing. People who haven't been vaccinated against either H1N1 or the season flu are at risk for all four strains - three seasonal and 2009 H1N1."
Clinics will be held at the following times and places:
- Jan. 14 - 4 to 6 p.m. in the lower level of Ross Medical Arts Building in Newton, 300 N. 4th Ave. E., in the former office of Dr. Greg Stansislav.
