Jasper County residents are invited to learn how to cross country ski or snowshoe at a clinic set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve in eastern Jasper County.
Sponsored and led by the Jasper County Conservation Board, the clinic is designed for both beginners looking to learn the basics of both sports and those with more advanced skills looking to hone their skills on the trails at Jacob Krumm.
A limited number of snowshoes, skis and boots are available for a $10 rental fee. Participants may also bring their own equipment. Pre-registration is requested by calling the Conservation Board office at 641-792-9780.
The clinic will only be held if there is snow cover on the ground.
To reach Jacob Krumm, travel north off of the Interstate 80 Lynnville exit (Exit 179) and then traveling east for a mile on Jacob Avenue. A warming shelter is available at the preserve.
