Rock Communications in Newton is adding a new, high-tech web press to its local production facility, a move the company says will add to its printing capabilities.
Graphic Arts Online reported that installation of the six-color Goss M600 heatset web began at Rock's Newton facility in November with the new press scheduled to go on line early next year.
"This press will add to our already robust web capability, and allow us to be a more efficient print operation," Jon Troen, CEO, is quoted in the story.
In 2007, Rock Communications acquired Colorfx, Inc., of Des Moines. The deal brought together two family-owned companies with more than 60 years of experience, five facilities throughout central and northeast Iowa and about 500 employees. Combined annual sales of the two companies, which retained their original name, are approximately $75 million.
