Thanks to a reader who forwarded me a note telling of a recent article in the Utne Reader that featured Newton and its efforts to grow a green economy after the economic fallout from Maytag's closure.

First printed in Audubon magazine in its July-August issue, writer Barry Yeoman interviews a number of local residents, including Mayor Chaz Allen and former Newton Development Corporation Executive Director Kim Didier, about Newton's new green economy and national efforts to expand that sector of the economy.
