Newton Mayor Chaz Allen and Dan Kelley, chair of the Jasper County Democratic Party Central Committee, will appear on former state lawmaker Ed Fallon's live radio program from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Allen is scheduled to speak on the reconstruction of the Newton economy following the closure of Maytag, including the addition of two green energy companies. The scheduling announcement, however, was made before Iowa Telecom's announcement last week that it was being acquired by Windstream in a $1.1 billion deal. Allen works for Iowa Telecom.
Kelley will go on the show to promote the local Democratic party's New Energy for Jasper County presentation set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jasper County Community Center.
