A Newton woman charged with misappropriating money from a local veteran's club won't stand trial as scheduled on Wednesday after agreeing to enter a plea at a hearing scheduled later this month.
On Monday, Judge Gregory Hulse entered an order setting Dec. 28 as the date for a "plea hearing" for Shari Good, who had been charged with felony first degree theft and ongoing criminal misconduct charges after an audit at the Newton American Legion identified more than $10,000 missing from the club, allegedly attributable to Good's actions while manager of the club during that time.
The judge's action came during a previously scheduled hearing on Good's motion to dismiss the ongoing criminal misconduct charge. That motion was withdrawn on Monday.
