This news report gives further detail on Elevance Renewable Science's plan to build a test facility on to the Jasper County biodiesel plant currently in the process of being taken over by REG. The Illinois company, which recently received a $2.5 million federal grant and is seeking state of Iowa financial assistance, plans to turn chicken fat into jet fuel. You can read it here.
The Iowa Economic Development Board is being asked at its meeting later this week to assign its agreements with Central Iowa Energy to REG to allow the asset purchase of the biodiesel plant to move forward.
