The Newton Convention and Visitors Bureau's holiday Christmas tree display is available for viewing on the south side of the Newton square. Vote with your cash for your favorite decorated tree. Proceeds will go toward the Bureau's new promotional grant program. Santa will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Jasper County Museum Christmas Open House

The Young Professionals of Jasper County are collecting hats, scarves, gloves and mittens to be distributed to children throughout Jasper County. New items may be dropped off at the Eye Care Center, Edward Jones, Otto Law Office, First Newton National Bank, First Choice Realty, Newton Daily News and the Chamber of Commerce.
