The Skiff Medical Center Board of Trustees will hold a closed session for the "evaluation of personnel" at 5 p.m. Monday at the hospital board room.
Notification of the special meeting was provided early Saturday afternoon.
In calling for the closed session, the agenda states that it not to be open to the public "as it was requested to be closed by the personnel being evaluated."
The agenda does not have any action items scheduled. No further information was provided.
On Tuesday, the board announced the hiring of new chief executive officer Steve Long, a former candidate for the top position at the city-owned hospital. He will begin in mid-January. At its regularly scheduled monthly meeting the next day, the board announced that Interim CEO Francie Jahn had resigned her position effective immediately and that Brett Altman, the long-time director of physical therapy services at the hospital, would act as interim CEO for the two-month period before Long begins.
In late October, the board approved a reduction in force initiative that cut 23 current positions at the hospital, eliminated another 23 open job positions and reduced the hours of 51 employees. The cuts are expected to produce $1.76 million in annual savings for the hospital.
