The Skiff Medical Center Board of Trustees revised its agenda for Thursday's special meeting for the second time this morning.
The board posted notice on Tuesday afternoon of its intention to meet in special session at 9 a.m. Thursday to act on board resignations. Later in the day the agenda was revised to include action on electing a board chairman. This morning the agenda was revised again to include discussion on how to fill the vacant seats.
Last week, two new board members were elected to replace outgoing members Gary Kahn and John Lee. Newcomers Dr. Gary Richardson and Lois Vogel are scheduled to assume their positions on the board in January.
Both Kahn and Lee have been under some pressure to resign their positions. The Skiff board is in the process of selecting a new chief executive officer at the same time the hospital is undergoing a reduction in force initiative put together by consultants from the B.E. Smith firm.
Both Richardson and Vogel have voiced concern over the retention of B.E. Smith to assist in the reorganization of the hospital in order to deal with financial difficulties.
Thursday's meeting is set for 9 a.m. in the board conference room.
