A new branch of Edward Jones Financial is planned for construction on the site of the former used furniture store located across the street from the Hy-Vee gas station.
The structure at 1402 1st Ave. E. has been purchased by NEH, L.L.C., a new limited liability corporation organized in October and led by Mark Allen of Newton.
Demolition of the structure is under way and a site plan has been submitted for construction of a new branch of Edward Jones, a spin-off from its downtown location.
Construction is expected to begin soon on the new facility and continue over the winter.
