Letter: Where are the headlines?

To the Newton Independent:

I cannot understand why there isn't headline news about the crucial layoffs and cutbacks of the nurses that we have all come to rely on. Have any ... at the Newton Daily News tried to interview any of these fine employees? This is huge for those of us who depend on Skiff for our medical care.

I don't think that the public is aware of the drain that B.E. Smith Co. is taking on our hospital.

How can the current B.E. Smith director of nursing let these three go, or assign them to be delegated to part-time night 18 hours a week employment while still holding her excessive salary?

I think that it is time for the citizens of Newton to rise up in arms and demand change now.

The press owes the community more coverage.
