AFSCME Web site discloses concession voting results

The AFSCME Iowa Web site is indicating this morning that public employees of Iowa's largest union have voted to make $26.4 million in concessions in return for a promise of no layoffs for 479 state workers.

Voting results posted on the Web site show that 66 percent of the membership voted with 59 percent voting yes and 41 percent voting no.

AFSCME leadership has scheduled a 9 a.m. press conference.
