Volunteers needed for free dental clinic in Newton

Volunteers are needed for the Iowa Dental Association's Mission of Mercy to be held Sept. 25-26 at the Iowa Speedway in Newton.

The Iowa Speedway will be turned into a huge dental clinic where more than 1,000 people are expected to turn out for free dental care. This year will mark the Iowa Dental Association's second Mission of Mercy event.

Dentists, assistants, hygienists and members of the public are needed to volunteer their time.

Last fall, more than 900 volunteers provided free dental care for more than 1,200 people with an estimated cost in excess of $600,000.
