Excuse my brief hiatus - I've been hosting out-of-state relatives since Monday and writing a magazine article. But I'm back.
I ran across this little ditty during my daily perusals that might hold some merit as the Jasper County Board of Supervisors moves forward with plans to tear down the old county care facility.
The Iowa Film Office sent out a notice that they are seeking Iowa buildings to blow up as part of a new dramatic docu-reality series, "Family Dynamic."
According to the release, each episode revolves around the Kelly family, the demolition experts, that mixes the stress of family life on the road with the on-the-job pressures of designing and implementing complicated implosions and demolitions.
Since film crews want to come to Iowa and blow up a building for the show, why not put the care facility up for consideration? Maybe even the Ghost Busters could get in ahead of time to do a little spirit scouting.
Anyway, if the supervisors or anybody else has a building they want to demolish, here's the e-mail (jennifer.hutchins@gmail.com) to the show's producer, Jen Hutchins, who says she's "confident you will find the show to be both beneficial to the future property and to the city."
