Shares of Iowa Telecom have slipped by more than a dollar this week after Soleil Securities initiated coverage of the Newton, Iowa-based telecommunications company with a "sell" recommendation.
Soleil says Iowa Telecom faces "strong headwinds" and predicts accelerated declines in access lines due to cable competition and wireless substitution.
In regard to speculation of a takeover, the business analysis firm says no at present because of Iowa Telecom's pending acquisition of two Minnesota telecommunication firms.
