Top executives of the nation's leading newspapers gathered secretly on Thursday in Rosemont, Ill., to purportedly discuss charging for online content.
The Atlantic broke the story first in a piece on Thursday and since that time the National Newspaper Association has acknowledged the gathering in a carefully worded press release. As can be expected, several other writers have now chimed in, some suggesting the executives need be careful if they don't want to draw the attention of Justice lawyers for possible anti-trust violations.
