Bush to speak in Benton Harbor

The Michigan Messenger reported Monday that President George W. Bush will speak in Benton Harbor, Mich., in late May to the Economic Development Club of Southwest Michigan, an organization founded by Whirlpool founder Lewis Upton.

The report goes on to note the controversy in that community over a Whirlpool-backed effort that lead federal officials to allow a land swap of a public beachfront park for development of a private golf course. You can read the report here.
